Element found 50 lbs. of polished rice, in 5-6 huts 6'x 10' and were well constructed and all w/ under ground sleeping. Huts were approx 2-3 months old. found documents stamped 31 Dec 69; (document hand carried to Bde by Bn S-2) Also found a bicycle in good condition. Delta Company at grid location BS656340, engaged with 5 NVA/VC; Following is the contents of all equipment CIA; documents, 5 packs (2 NVA/3 home made), 120 lbs of rice, 1 home made grenade, 3 bottles of pills, 1 knife, 4 NVA can -teens, 3 1st aid bandages, 5 hammocks, and 3 pairs of HCM sandals, 4 sets of grey uniforms, 2 lg cooking pans, 3 NVA ponchos, 1 bottle of insect repellent, 1 can of foot powder.

Delta Company's 3rd platoon at 1305 hrs. at grid location BS662346, element on patrol encountered 2 NVA moving to the 3rd platoons rear in a Southwest direction; engaged enemy w/small arms at 50 meters; results; 1 NVA WIA (blood trails). Both enemy evaded to the Southwest and both were armed with AK-47's and both wore green uniforms.

At 1215 hrs. SRRP /3 at grid locations BS648377, found 5 sleeping positions and are approx 3 months old; 1 size 10'x 8' x 4' w/wooden floor; other four are 4' x 3' x 4' .

At 1130 hrs. Bravo Company's 3rd platoon at grid location BS695398, found 2 huts. Equipment found in huts: docu -ments, 1 bottle w/writing on it, 1 banana clip full -AK-47 ammo, 43 loose AK -47 rounds, 1 US ammo box-full of assorted ammo w/powder removed and placed in a bottle, 1 dud 175 mm round, 2 M-16 magazines, 1 US steel helmet, 1 NVA pith helmet, flashlight batteries, clothing, 1 NVA poncho, 2 NVA canteens, 1 2 qt canteen, 5 lbs of rice, 5 lbs of rock salt, and other items of lesser military significance.
